As the evolution of mountain bikes and the people that ride them continues, the need for a longer travel bike that could take on the most extreme conditions became obvious. Not only did the bike need to be tough, it also needed a drivetrain that allowed the rider to pedal to the top of their favorite downhill.

The All Conditions (AC) was created for that rider who accepts the challenge of the most treacherous terrain imaginable, but who prefers to ride to it rather than taking a lift or shuttle.

The first thing Giant engineers did was create a frame that achieves over six inches of travel but retains a conventional front triangle for maximum stiffness and strength. However, in order to accommodate the swingarm’s upward motion under full compression, a special S-bend seat tubewas incorporated.

The next thing our engineers did was create a four-bar linkage that utilizes a long-lever rocker for a progressive spring rate and an unmatched combination of DH manners and XC climbing performance. Adjustable travel was incorporated to allow riders to choose their ideal travel setting for a variety of conditions and pedaling efficiency. And last but not least, cartridge bearing at the critical pivots are used to create superior lateral stiffness.
